How is Chevrolet of Canton Involved in your ASEP Training?
A big part of the GM ASEP program is that you will be provided the opportunity to work directly with a local GM dealership, like us here at Chevrolet of Canton, during your education. Half of your time will be spent at your sponsoring dealership and you will be paid for the time work there. The other half is spent in the classroom with instructors. Your local GM ASEP college instructor will help secure your sponsorship – so if you are interested doing your training with us, just let them know! We are excited to provide valuable hands-on training to the future of the automotive service industry!

What is the GM Automotive Career Path?
By going through the ASEP training and working with us here at Chevrolet of Canton, your path to becoming a master technician is attainable! By putting in the time and effort, you can work your way through the steps it take to achieve the ultimate goal. Our team is looking forward to being apart of your journey! Here are the three phases of what your career path might look like:
Apprentice Technician: This phase of the job might last between 6 months to 2 years. It will be your first position and will focus largely on express service and vehicle inspections, allowing you to gain basic familiarity with the vehicles and tools of the trade.
Main Line Technician: An average of 2 – 5 year are spent with this role. This position allows you to be able to handle most repairs without oversight. And, in this stage, you’ll work toward your bronze, silver and gold certifications.
Master Technician: As a seasoned tech, you will work specifically on your areas of interest. At this level, you will be trusted to handle the more challenging work that comes in and to help support new apprentices in their career development.
